Do you want to build Ruby on Rails software for a privacy-first email platform used by people who care about control over their data? At Soverin, you work on the core product behind secure email, webmail, control panels and internal tooling — with direct impact on reliability, usability and privacy.
You will join a team of engineers, ops specialists and privacy advocates building a secure email ecosystem. This is a role for a hands-on developer who likes working across backend, frontend and platform reliability.

As a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer, you help improve Soverin’s core platform. You work on customer-facing applications, internal tools and the architecture that keeps the platform stable and easy to use.
Your work includes:
- Maintaining and improving backend and frontend architecture with Ruby on Rails, Turbo and Stimulus.
- Building internal tools that help support and operations teams work faster and reduce support load.
- Contributing to customer-facing applications such as webmail and control panels.
- Working with support and operations teams to identify bugs, improve usability and increase platform stability.
- Improving automation, system reliability and operational workflows.
- Contributing to infrastructure and platform innovation projects.
- Keeping the issue tracker in YouTrack structured and up to date.
The current stack includes Ruby on Rails 7, PostgreSQL, Redis, PHP, JavaScript, TailwindCSS, Kubernetes and email-related systems such as Postfix, Dovecot and Rspamd.
Uw profiel
You are an experienced developer who enjoys building product features as well as improving the systems behind them. You like working with engineers, ops and support, and you care about building software that is reliable, understandable and useful.
What you bring:
- HBO/WO working and thinking level, or equivalent experience.
- More than 6 years of software development experience.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and modern web development.
- A test-driven development mindset.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-moving tech environment.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to collaborate closely with ops and support teams.
Technologies you may work with:
- Ruby on Rails 7, Turbo and Stimulus.
- PostgreSQL, Redis, PHP and JavaScript.
- HTML, Slim templating and TailwindCSS.
- Kubernetes, or the willingness to learn.
- Email systems such as Postfix, Dovecot, Rspamd and Sieve.
- Roundcube.
- Monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana are a plus.
- Nextcloud is a plus.
